making pictures with type

This project was created during my work experience with the Liveworm Studio on the Gold Coast. I was asked to create place names for an upcoming instillation in the Griffith University Student Centre on the Gold Coast campus.

The natural feel of the typography was created by physically painting each character and then bringing it into Adobe Illustrator and making it into a vector. The characters were then further manipulated to from a unique symbol for each word.

the quick red fox ...

I have been working on some illustrations to go on my new website! Much of my time has been spent illustrating and shading the fox, and making a grungy version of Helvetica.

The final image! Now all I need to do is to add a lazy dog ...

are you for the birds?

'For the Birds' is brand that I created for a third-year graphic design subject. For this project, I created a range of greeting cards that reel people in with cutsey colours and stunning typography. The following images show the branding side of the project. (p.s. No cats allowed!)

I then went on to apply this logo to other applications — business letterhead, envelopes, cards, and carry bags.

showreel

I created this showreel as part of my Industry Portfolio subject during my final semester of university. It showcases my favorite final year project: my range of greeting cards. WARNING: showreel may contain bright flashing colours and unfavorable remarks towards cats. Bird lovers, enjoy!
